About Us

Our Background

The Cattle Breeding Program (CBP) as part of CUT genetics was initiated by Chinhoyi University of Technology as a platform to support cattle production in Zimbabwe. It was born out of extensive farmer consultations in 2014 where farmers indicated that they face constraints related to low reproductive performance of their livestock, high mortality rates due to tick-borne diseases, and lack of access to affordable good quality breeding bulls, among other challenges.
