Welcome to CUT cattle breeding project

The Cattle Breeding Project aim is to improve the national herd from 5.6 million to above 10 million through assisted reproductive technologies

Our Story

Advancing Cattle Breeding with Expertise and Care

The Cattle Breeding Project aim is to improve the national herd from 5.6 million to above 10 million through assisted reproductive technologies (Artificial Insemination. Embryo Transfer and selection). A demonstration center for livestock breeding technologies that aim for improving productivity and sustainability of cattle, wildlife in communal, commercial and ranches. Animal reproductive performance is one of the crucial drivers of profitability and sustainability. Ability to attain conception early in the breeding season and maintaining cow/calf per year is the greatest efficiency in production systems. Assisted reproductive technologies and management practices provide an opportunity to circumvent losses due to poor breeding programs across the industry. At the moment, breeding technologies and management practices are still underutilized.
